MONROE - A Winslow woman was jailed Saturday after police say she caused a drunken disturbance at a wedding reception in Monroe, punched her husband and drove her SUV recklessly around the reception hall's parking lot.
Ashley J. Schoger, 32, faces two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and a second-offense charge of operating while intoxicated. She was also cited for reckless driving.
The charges stem from a series of incidents Saturday evening after the wedding Schoger attended in Illinois transitioned to a reception at Ludlow Mansion, 1421 Mansion Dr., according to police reports filed Tuesday in Green County Circuit Court.
Schoger allegedly punched her husband repeatedly in the face at Sir Buk's Dance Club, W5222 County KK, just east of Monroe, while the wedding "party bus" was stopped there before the reception.
Later, at the reception, witnesses told police Schoger yelled at her husband, swore at other party guests and made threats to run people down with her Dodge Durango. Police responded to a 911 complaint that she was speeding and squealing her tires around Ludlow Mansion's parking lot and had nearly hit several people.
Schoger failed sobriety tests. An officer noted in his report that she was swaying and had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.
It's unclear from police reports what upset Schoger.
Pleas of not guilty were entered in her case Tuesday in court. She was released on a $1,000 signature bond with conditions that she not drink or go into bars or liquor stores. She has a pre-trial conference Oct. 20.
