Weather causes area school closures Jan. 23

MONROE — A snowstorm expected to drop 7 to 10 inches over the region has caused school and activity closings.

Area district closures for Wednesday, Jan. 23, include:

Albany School District

Argyle School District

School District of Black Hawk

School District of Brodhead

Juda School District

School District of Monroe

Monticello School District

New Glarus School District

Pecatonica Area School District

As of 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, Darlington Community School District had not yet announced any closures or delays.

Inclement weather began Tuesday, forcing cancellations in the afternoon and evening, including: Monroe schools, 2-hour early release, no PM 4K, no after school activities: Girls Basketball vs Fort Atkinson rescheduled to Tuesday, 1/29/19; boys hockey at MG - postponed to TBD; JV Wrestling Invite at Fort Atkinson postponed/canceled.

Albany schools closed at 12:30 p.m.

Argyle schools, early release 12:30 p.m.

Belleville schools, closed at 12:30 p.m.

Black Hawk schools were closed for a scheduled academic calendar day, but evening activities were also not held.

Brodhead schools closed at 12:30 p.m., no after school activities were held.

Darlington schools were closed for the day due to the incoming weather report.

Juda schools closed at 12:30 p.m., no PM kindergarten held.

Monticello schools closed at 12:30 p.m.

New Glarus schools closed at 12:30 p.m., no after school activities were held.

Pecatonica schools, early release 12:30 p.m., no after school activities were held.


Illinois schools:

Lena-Winslow schools closed at 11 a.m.

Orangeville schools closed at 11 a.m.

Pecatonica, Ill., schools closed at 11:30 a.m.

Stockton schools closed at 11 a.m., no after school activities were held.

Warren schools closed at 11 a.m., no after school activities we're held.
