Walker to lay out health care plan in Minn. speech

MADISON (AP) - Republican Scott Walker says he'll lay out his ideas for changing the American health care system in a speech next week in Minnesota.

The Wisconsin governor has long opposed the federal overhaul championed by President Barack Obama. That's included a refusal to take federal money to pay for expanding Medicaid coverage in his state, a position Walker has touted on the presidential campaign trail.

He plans to appear Tuesday at a suburban Minneapolis manufacturing company to discuss his plans for repeal and what he'd do to replace the federal overhaul.

Walker is also scheduled to give a speech later that day at a fundraiser for a Minnesota conservative group.
