MONROE - The Green County Beef Producers' competition to find the best burger in the county is underway, with voting continuing through July 31. This year's competition features cheeseburgers.
To vote, diners can pick up a postcard at participating eateries. Take the voting postcard to each establishment visited to get a new stamp for qualifying burgers throughout the contest. Diners can mail it in for a chance to win a beef-related prize.
Diners are encouraged to follow the contest and post photos of their favorite burgers on the group's Facebook page.
To qualify for the drawing, voters need to purchase designated burgers from at least five of the participating establishments. In order to be eligible for the grand prize drawing, diners must try 15 qualifying burgers.
Prizes include: a gas grill, charcoal grill, a summer grilling basket, a beef bundle and $25 gift card from the participating establishments. Prizes will be awarded during the Green County Beef Producers Steak-Out at 7 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Green County Fairgrounds.
Prize sponsors include Monroe Truck Equipment, Grede Foundry, Hoesly's Meats, Koning Meats and Deli Catering, Wisconsin Beef Council and participating establishments.
Judging should be based on:
