NEW GLARUS - The New Glarus Village Board Tuesday approved the certified survey map for the division and consolidation of land that the library is purchasing from the Swiss Center of North America.

"Everything is still on schedule for closing this Friday," said Village Administrator Nic Owen.

A small portion of land on the north end of the property that's owned by the North American Swiss Center is being sectioned off and combined with a larger parcel west of the center.

The smaller portion will be used for a driveway and pedestrian access to the library, according to Owen.

The new library building will be accessible from Duerst Road.

No driveway access from Wisconsin 39 was allowed.

The next steps for the library board will be to find architects and engineers for the project and to establish a fundraising task force to raise money to help pay for it.
