UW-Extension Cattle Feeders Clinic is Feb. 18

DARLINGTON -The University of Wisconsin-Extension Cattle Feeders Clinic will be held from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18 at Talmer Bank, Darlington.

Dr. Grant Dewell, Iowa State University Extension Production Animal Veterinarian, will present management practices to prevent and treat major health issues for confined finishing cattle. Vaccination programs, metaphalaxis and treatment plans for respiratory disease will be addressed.

Dr. Brenda Boetel, UW-Extension livestock and grain marketing specialist, will also discuss a market outlook on feed and cattle prices for 2013. Other topics to be presented include a comparison of confinement finishing housing systems influence on cattle performance and efficiency.
