JORDAN CENTER - The victim of Monday morning's fatal traffic accident on Wis. 81, just west of County M in the Town of Jordan, has been identified as Bradley S. Chenous, 29, of Argyle.

The accident occurred at 6:45 a.m.

The Green County Sheriff's Department reported Chenous' pickup was westbound on Wis. 81 and was rounding a sweeping curve in the road, but then left the highway on the south side and collided with a tree. He had no passengers.

The vehicle caught fire; Browntown and Argyle fire departments responded and extinguished the fire. Green County EMS personnel were also dispatched to the scene.

An autopsy revealed the victim died of injuries sustained in the crash, before the vehicle caught fire.

A section of the highway was closed for about three hours while deputies investigated the crash.

It was Green County's sixth traffic fatality of 2011.
