MONROE - The 2012 Green County Tractor and Machinery Safety certification course is available for youth between 12 and 16 years old, with the first class starting Saturday, March 17, at the Justice Center.
Cost for the class is $35 for Green County residents and $45 for out-of-county youth. Checks can be made payable to UW-Extension, Green County. Fees cover cost of manual, equipment use and insurance.
Wisconsin law stipulates that no child under the age of 16 can operate a farm tractor or machinery on the highway unless the child has been certified through a safety course.

n Saturday, March 17, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Argyle High School, 14665 Wisconsin 78, Argyle. Joint session with Lafayette County.
n Tuesday, March 20, 7 to 9 p.m., Multipurpose Rooms, Green County Justice Center, 2841 6th St., Monroe.
n Tuesday, March 27, 7 to 9 p.m., Juda Community Center, N2350 County OK, Juda

This is a 24-hour state and federal course. Participation in all classes is required. Sessions on March 27, April 3, 14, 24, 25 and 26 will be held outdoors.
