Three ways to vote in the Nov. 3 election

MADISON — There are three ways to vote in the election of Nov. 3:

● Vote at the polls: cast your ballot at the polling place on election day. Polls are open from 7 am to 8 p.m.

● In-person vote by absentee ballot: cast an absentee ballot in person before election day.

● Vote absentee ballot by mail: request an absentee ballot at myvote.wi.gov. The request must be received by Wisconsin Elections Commission or to the municipal clerk no later than 5 p.m. Oct. 29.

Voter registration must be up to date. Voters must be registered and names and addresses must be current before voting in person or request an absentee ballot. To check or update registration, visit myvote.wi.gov or call 866-868-3947 for assistance.

No matter how a vote is casted, an acceptable photo ID must be shown. An ID does not need a current address.

Visit bringit.wi.gov for a complete list of acceptable photo ID’s and to learn how to get one for free if one is not in possession.

Those who are indefinitely confined due to age, illness, infirmity or disability may certify their status by checking “indefinitely confined” on the application.

Wisconsin law exempts indefinitely confined voters from the requirement to provide a photo ID when requesting an absentee ballot by mail.
