Three facing meth charges

SHULLSBURG - Three people face charges for possessing meth and drug paraphernalia after police investigated two for shoplifting from a Shullsburg convenience store.

Jonnie Rose Connolly, 21, and Nathan Wayne Perry, 27, both of Dubuque, reportedly shoplifted candy and energy drinks from Miner Towne Mart, 101 Miner Way, on Sept. 15.

Police located them later at a residence in the 200 block of West Estey Street, along with Spencer Tyler Hocking, 26, Benton. All three had meth, syringes and pipes, according to police reports.

Possession of methamphetamine is a Class I felony and can be punished by up to three and a half years in prison and on parole and fines of up to $10,000. Connolly and Perry were also charged with retail theft, a misdemeanor.

A warrant is out for the arrest of Perry. Connolly signed a $2,500 signature bond with conditions that she have no contact with her co-defendants or the home on West Estey Street. She has an adjourned initial appearance Oct. 12.

Hocking also signed a $2,500 signature bond with similar conditions. He has a preliminary hearing Dec. 1.
