MONROE - Two Rockford residents were arrested Thursday for their suspected involvement in a burglary at a Monroe Township business in December.
James Stroup, 46, and Nina Patrick, 27, were arrested in Grant County after being involved in a burglary in Platteville, according to a Green County Sheriff's news release.
Stroup and Patrick are believed to have committed a burglary at Eastside Farm Sales on County DR on Dec. 15. The two stole tools and equipment valued at more than $9,000 total.
Stroup, who was a suspect in similar crimes in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Indiana, was caught after the Illinois State Police installed a GPS tracking device on Stroup's vehicle. With the tracking device, Illinois Police observed Stroup return to the scene of a break-in in Platteville, where he was caught by the Grant County Sheriff's Department.
Stroup admitted to being involved in 41 burglaries, including the incident in Monroe.
Stroup and Patrick are being held without bail in Grant County on charges in that county. Charges in Green County have not yet been filed.
