NEW GLARUS - A 34-year-old man who committed suicide Wednesday, June 5 in a home across the street from the New Glarus Elementary School was not outdoors with his gun, police say. New Glarus police responded to a report of a suicidal man in the 10 block of 14th Avenue at 12:24 p.m. Wednesday and put the school on lockdown since there was a playground full of children directly across the street. The man was found dead from a self-inflected gunshot wound after police forced entry into the home.
