MONROE - Two students were expelled from Monroe High School this week.
The Monroe school board expelled the students, a freshman boy and a junior boy, Wednesday. Because the matter is a student discipline issue, the matter was decided in closed session.
Monroe Superintendent Larry Brown said the expulsion was "prescription drug related." Because it was a non-life threatening offense, the students will continue to receive educational services through the school district.
