DARLINGTON - A severe thunderstorm Monday night caused significant damage with no injuries or livestock loss across Lafayette County and especially in the Shullsburg and Wiota townships.
A Lafayette County sheriff's news release stated the storm entered the western part of the county at about 4:05 p.m. and worked its way across the whole county.
Heavy rain and wind pelted the area as the storm moved east. According to the release there were several downed trees and power lines compromised. Flash flooding was an issue in the southwest corner of the county.
