MONROE - Heavy rains and hail hit the area Saturday afternoon for about 20 minutes.

The sky turned dark at about 2:15 p.m. About three-fourths of an inch of rain fell during the brief storm, which lasted about 20 minutes.

Trees and tree limbs were reported across the road in a few locations in the county, Green County Sheriff Randy Roderick said this morning. The debris created hazards in the N240 block of Clarno Road, the N8500 block of Poplar Grove Road, the W6300 block of County P and on Rat Hollow Road.

Electrical power was out in some places in Green County, Roderick said. Most of the power returned within an hour.
