MONROE - Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. Easter is only 40 days, excluding Sundays, away. But today's snowstorm interrupted many Monroe churches' plans to celebrate.
Ash Wednesday services were canceled at:
• St. Victor Catholic Church.
• Mount Olive Lutheran Church.
• St. John's United Church of Christ.
• Union Presbyterian Church.
Ash Wednesday services still are planned for 6:30 p.m. at Monroe United Methodist Church.
