State sentencing on child porn delayed

DARLINGTON - A Darlington man's sentencing on state charges of producing child pornography was delayed again Tuesday.

Timmy Reichling, 49, appeared in court Tuesday to be sentenced on two Class D felony counts of possession of child pornography.

However, the hearing was delayed for a second time, as the pre-sentencing investigation to determine the most appropriate sentence remains incomplete.

This is the second time Reichling's state sentencing has been delayed.

Reichling was sentenced to 25 years in prison in federal court in 2014 on charges of child exploitation.

Green County Circuit Judge James Beer said the investigators in charge of Reichling's federal sentencing have still failed to provide their reports, which would help inform a pre-sentence investigation.

Lafayette County District Attorney Kate Findley said the reports would likely be provided before Reichling's new sentencing date of Oct. 26. If they are not, she said she would inform the court so it can commission a state pre-sentencing investigation.

Reichling was charged after he coerced an underage girl to send him sexually explicit photographs of herself between 2011 and 2012. When investigators searched Reichling's residence, they found millions of images of child pornography on hard drives in his possession.
