MONROE — The SSM Health Monroe Hospital’s Operating Room (OR) Team received the 2022 Perioperative Nursing (CNOR) Strong Designation. This is awarded to teams who have a certain percentage of their nurses CNOR certified. This year, the Monroe OR Team is 85% certified.
For a nurse to become certified, they are required to work in the OR for two years and then take an exam. Once they pass the exam, they renew the certification every five years by CEU credits or retaking the exam.
“This is a great designation and I’m very proud we have achieved it,” said Suzie Dornink, SSM Health Monroe Hospital’s Director of Surgical Services.
