MONROE - UW-Extension Green County announced the hiring of Victoria Solomon as the new community resource development educator.

Solomon recently moved from Platteville, where she worked as an associate planner with the Southwestern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission. While at SWWRPC, Solomon worked on regional foods issues and community capacity building initiatives. She has a Master's of Science in environment and sustainable development from University College-London and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Solomon's first major efforts will be organizing and teaching the Green County Leaders program, held from Tuesday, Sept. 10 and through May 2014. In addition to the leadership program, in the next several months, Solomon will be conducting a needs assessment to better understand how she can serve Green County communities and organizations.
