MONROE - Soil Sisters: Wisconsin women farmers will host the Farm and Food Tour on Sunday, Aug.10. From eggplants to emus, sheep to solar energy, bed and breakfasts to beef, seven farms on the tour will offer a diversity of farm experiences.
Farms will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tours and activities are free and open to the public. Tours will take place rain or shine. No pre-registration is needed.

A new addition to the tour includes farms showcasing various seasonal recipes using farmgrown items that can be purchased. Recipes include Orange Lavender Shortbread Cookies at Lucky Dog Farmstay, Lamb and Honey Meatballs at Kinkoona Farmand Mediterranean Lentil Salad featuring various seasonal vegetables at Sandhill Family Farms.
