MONROE — A Monroe man faces felony drug charges after a SLANT operation on May 27, according to Monroe Police Chief Fred Kelley.
On Tuesday at 9:21 a.m., Monroe Police Officers and Agents of the State Line Area Narcotics Task Force (SLANT), executed a search warrant in Monroe, at a residence in the 1700 block of 21st Avenue. The warrant execution resulted in the arrest of Shane B. French (55), Monroe. French was charged with felony possession of Delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinols (marijuana), unlawful possession of a short barrel rifle and possession of drug paraphernalia.
French was confined in the Green County Jail and had his first court appearance the next day, May 28, in front of Circuit Court Judge Jane Bucher. He signed a signature bond May 29. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 18 in front of Judge Faun Phillipson.
The State Line Area Narcotics Team (SLANT) consists of agents from the Illinois State Police, Rockford, Freeport, Belvidere Illinois Police Departments, Boone County IL Sheriffs Office, Green County WI Sheriffs Office and Monroe WI Police Department.
