MONROE - Looking for a special way to "shell-abrate" on Father's Day weekend? Take Dad to check out Mr. Peanut's 26-foot Nutmobile when it rolls into the "Hot Air, Hot Wheels" car show at the Monroe Balloon and Blues Festival on Saturday at the Green County Fairgrounds, 2600 10th St., Monroe.

The Nutmobile is staffed by a team of "Peanutters" who are traveling the country in celebration of Mr. Peanut's 100th birthday. His "dry-roasted and slightly salted" ride weighs in at more than 10,500 pounds - the equivalent of about 2.4 million peanuts.

For those suffering from nut allergies, the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile also will be on site.

The Monroe Balloon and Blues Festival begins Friday with a balloon flight planned for 6 p.m. and music by the Leman Quartet at 7 p.m. An evening balloon glow at 8:30 p.m. will be accompanied by Birddog Blues Band with Ken "Birddog" Olufs on vocals and harmonica. Food booths and a beer stand with a great selection of cool summer brews will be available.

In addition to the car show, Saturday's schedule includes a craft fair, food booths and beer. Left Wing Bourbon Band kicks off the music lineup at 2:30 p.m., mixing soul and boogie with funky blues. Green County's favorite piano-playing dairy farmer Jimmy Voegeli brings his band The Jimmys to the stage at 4:30 p.m. Brent Johnson and the Call Up bring their New Orleans style swagger to Wisconsin for a set that starts at 6:30 p.m. The final band of the evening features vocalist Michael Ledbetter (a descendant of legendary folk and blues musician Lead Belly) and the blazing fretwork of guitar master Nick Moss. The Nick Moss Band plays from 8:30 until 10 p.m., with balloons blazing in the background for the evening glow.

The 2016 Monroe Balloon and Blues Festival is presented by Arc of Green County, an organization providing funding for area handicapped and disabled individuals.

Admission to the Green County Fairgrounds is free, with parking on-site for a nominal fee. Free street parking is also available.
