MONROE - The blinking traffic lights at Ninth Street and 13th Avenue are being temperamental due to unusual winter weather.
Tom Boll, street department supervisor, said the lights have a moisture problem. The traffic lights were blinking all day Tuesday and continued this morning.
Tapco, the company that makes the lights, is having the same problem all over the state. The company said when the weather cools down, the problem should "fix itself."
If it doesn't, Boll said the street department will pull some wires to repair the problem.
The lights are some of the oldest in the city and will not be replaced until the street is reconstructed sometime in 2009.
The traffic light that is out at Ninth Street and 16th Avenue is due to a burned out bulb that will be replaced after the threat of rain passes. The Monroe Police Department has been notified of the problems.
