MONROE - Significant changes to Wisconsin landlord-tenant law and regulations were made in both 2012 and 2014.
Landlords, and all who are interested, can attend a free breakfast session about these recent changes to landlord-tenant law from 7 to 8:30 a.m. April 9 at Monroe Super 8.
Nancy Jensen, from the Apartment Association of South Central Wisconsin, will be making a special presentation to area landlords, attorneys, and realtors about these changes to landlord-tenant law, and how they will impact the rental industry in Green County.
A free hot breakfast will be served, and each attendee will receive property management sample documents, reference materials containing the new state laws, suggested best practices, and lead paint information.
Some of the hot button issues addressed by the recent legislation include the handling of security deposits, completion of check-in lists, disposal of abandoned property, illegal provisions in a lease, and disclosure of code violations.
The event is sponsored by the Apartment Association of South Central Wisconsin and by the Green County Council on Housing and Homelessness Prevention.
For more information, contact Bridget Mouchon-Humphrey, at the Green County UW-Extension office, at 608-328-9440 or bridget.mouchon@ces.uwex. edu.
