Senior Fest is April 25

MONROE - The Stateline Senior Fun Fest is planned from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 25 at the Monroe United Methodist Church, 2227 4th St.

The fun fest is free to attend and will feature 30 interactive exhibits from stateline area businesses and organizations. There will be free blood pressure, blood sugar and bone density screenings from 8 to 11 a.m. There will be giveaways and door prizes with the grand prize being a 40-inch flat screen TV and a shingles shot donated by the Green County Health Department.

Three informational workshops will be featured throughout the day. At 9 a.m., participants can learn how to cook healthy for one or two by Colette Wyttenbach; at 10 a.m., participants can learn some helpful tips about Medicare 101 with Marie Cooper, and at 11 a.m., Dr. Vincent Lee will give a presentation on senior intimacy.

Lunch will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with live entertainment by Del Hines. The menu includes sliced beef tips with gravy, mashed golden potatoes, Wisconsin blend vegetables, lettuce salad and angel food cake with strawberries and whipped topping for dessert. The suggested donation for people age 60 or older is $3.50. Call the ADRC to reserve lunch at (608) 328-9499.

After lunch there will be an opportunity to tour the new Monroe Clinic Hospital with free transportation provided to and from the hospital.
