Senate candidate to campaign in Monroe, Belleville on Feb. 19
Lisa White
Senate District 17 candidate Lisa White of Potosi.

MONROE — Lisa White will bring her campaign for the 17th Senate District to Monroe this week. White vows to restore fairness in government and fight for workers and families across the district.

“During these times of political posturing and finger pointing by career politicians, a new, independent voice is needed to speak for and with the people,” White said.

On Feb. 19, White will be in Monroe. She will be appearing at the Monroe Arts Center at 3:30 p.m. to “kick off” her campaign in Green County. She will make a formal campaign announcement, greet supporters and discuss issues of concern or interest with local citizens.

Following that event, White will travel to Belleville where, at 5 p.m., she will conduct a “Conversation with the Community” at the Belleville Public Library. Both events are open to the public. The WHITE FOR WISCONSIN campaign invites everyone to attend.

White’s roots in the 17th Senate District are deep and well established. She is the oldest of seven children and grew up on a beef cattle farm in Potosi. Her father and mother, who at the ages of 91 and 86 encouraged her to run for public office, raised her to work hard and help those in need. Those values guided her when she began her career in healthcare as a registered nurse. White has served her community as the former President of the Potosi Chamber of Commerce and worked with citizens, small businesses and officials to promote economic development in the district. White later started her own business, The Painter Lady LLC, which continues as a thriving family enterprise that contributes to the community and employes area workers.

Since last year, Lisa White has been traveling around the 17th Senate District meeting area residents, including Green, Lafayette, Iowa, Grant, and Crawford Counties and a part southwest Dane County.

“I’m excited about the months ahead.  I look forward to visiting with the people of this district. Listening to people is the best way to know their interests. My campaign is about showing up, hearing people concerns and making sure their voices and concerns are heard in this election,” White said. “Everywhere I go I hear voters say they want their elected officials to work together. They want government to function.  They want politicians to work for the people and not their own self-interest. They want change. I want my campaign — ‘New Voice. New Vision.’ — to be for working people, for rural communities, and for families who’ve been left out of governing for too long.”
