Schools close in advance of another winter storm

MONROE - Green and Lafayette counties are included in a National Weather Service winter storm warning in effect through 6 a.m. Tuesday. After freezing rain and sleet early this afternoon, snow was in the forecast by mid-afternoon and this evening. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 7 inches are expected, with blowing and drifting snow as winds pick up after midnight.

In advance of the storm, Darlington, Argyle, Juda and Black Hawk schools are closing at 12:30 p.m. today, while Albany and Monticello are closing at 1:30 p.m.
