MONROE - Bone-chilling temperatures and blowing and drifting snow on rural roads is causing nearly all schools in the area to begin school two hours late Monday.
Starting two hours later than usual today are the following school districts: Albany, Argyle, Black Hawk, Darlington, Juda, Monroe, Monticello and Pecatonica.
The Green County Sheriff's Department reports that blowing and drifting snow remains a problem on some secondary roads. Temperatures are below zero across the area, with wind chills reaching double digits below zero. A wind chill advisory remains in effect until noon today.
And, to make matters worse, significant snowfalls are predicted tonight into Tuesday, and again Tuesday night into Wednesday.
