JUDA - The Juda School District is proposing a $11.18 tax rate per $1,000 property value for 2012-13, a two-cent increase from last year.
At that rate, the owner of a $150,000 home can expect to pay $1,677 and the owner of a $200,000 house would pay $2,236 in school taxes.
The proposed rate is based on the district's 2011 property values of $101 million. Confirmation of the tax rate will come in October. The district's annual meeting was Aug. 27.
The district is raising $1.13 million in taxes, $2,190, or 0.2 percent, more than last year.
Of that amount, the general fund makes up $650,300; debt service will take $464,000; and the community fund will take $16,000. The general fund dropped by $310, while debt service is up $2,500.
The school district total budget comes to $4.35 million, up $145,000, or 3.5 percent, from $4.2 million last year.
State equalization aid is $1.93 million, down $37,000, or 1.9 percent from last year.
