School board to get help with measure

MONROE - Some Monroe school board members and administrators will meet with a consultant Monday morning to discuss a potential referendum.

District Administrator Cory Hirsbrunner scheduled the meeting with Bill Foster of School Perceptions, a research company that conducted surveys for the district last year. The board is considering hiring School Perceptions to conduct another survey to delve into the specifics of what the community may or may not support in a potential fall referendum.

"I think that having other people - other than just the board - helping us to disperse information is going to be crucial to this," Hirsbrunner said. "And I think we really have to talk about it and discuss what are ways in which we can engage the community to help them understand where we're at and to make an informed decision."

The meeting was originally scheduled with school board member Dan Bartholf, board president Bob Erb and four administrators, but other board members expressed interest in attending.

Board clerk Amy Bazley and vice president Scott Schmidt were absent.
