MONROE - The Monroe School Board is putting the finishing touches on reviewing superintendent applications in anticipation of interviews April 30.

"We are going through the process of which candidates we want to have in for interviews," Monroe School Board President Pam Wyss said Thursday.

Wyss said the board hasn't determined how many candidates it will have in for interviews. She said that could be determined during a closed session meeting Monday, April 23.

The board announced a timeline on the superintendent search earlier this month. The district will have interviews on April 30.

Wyss said the first set of interviews will be a two-part process. The candidates will go through interviews with a 15- to 20-member community advisory group that includes two student representatives, staff, administrators and community members. The second part of the interview will be with the school board on April 30.

Superintendent Larry Brown resigned in March to take the superintendent position in the Rice Lake Area School District. Brown's resignation is effective June 30.

Interviews for superintendent finalists will be on May 7.
