MONROE - Monroe Main Street will be holding the 14th annual lighted Christmas parade at 6 p.m. Dec. 4.

The parade will organize at the Monroe Middle School's north side and Monroe School District parking lot, before 6 p.m., and proceed around the historic Square, returning to the Monroe School District parking lot.

To avoid confusion, there will be only one Santa and Mrs. Claus in the parade and they will be provided by Main Street Monroe.

The Monroe Noon Optimist Club invites everyone to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at Wisconsin Bank and Trust after the parade. There will be crafts, hot chocolate, treats and photos with Santa.

Individuals, business and organizations are welcome to participate, but must fill out an entry form to reserve a spot in the parade and to ensure that participants receive parade updates.

The parade is sponsored by Main Street Monroe and Precision Drive and Control, Inc.

Generators will be available for entries that need electricity for lighting. Contact Ann Koshkee at PDC prior to Nov. 27 to make arrangements to reserve and pick up a generator. A limited supply will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.

Parade entry forms must be returned no later than Nov. 27 to Main Street Monroe Christmas Parade, 531 26th Ave., Monroe, WI 53566. For more information, contact Tom Miller, parade co-chairman, tmiller4421@charter.net, 608-329-4421 or Melisa Schmidt, parade co-chairman, melisaschmidt@hotmail.com, 608-214-2577.
