MONROE - Green County Sheriff Mark Rohloff announced he will run for election this fall.
Rohloff was appointed in November by Gov. Scott Walker to complete the unfinished term of former Sheriff Jeff Skatrud.
Rohloff's current term ends Jan. 5, 2015. The Republican candidate will look to win a four-year term as the Green County Sheriff.
"I believe that it is important to provide a continuity of leadership in the years ahead, build upon the successes of my predecessors, and prepare to meet the needs of future challenges," Rohloff said in an email. "I offer 34 years of committed law enforcement experience, and strong ties to Green County."
Rohloff, originally from Janesville, lives in the Town of Jefferson with his wife and three of his six children. His appointment as sheriff marked the first time he held a political office.
