MONROE — Chris Roelli of Roelli Cheese, Shullsburg, was the Grand Champion this year of the Green County Fair Cheese Contest, with his Roelli Little Mountain with a score of 99.85.
The judges were Marianne Smukowski, Michael Pederson, Laura Laehn and Matt Zimbric.
The cheese auction of the first- through third-place entries took place at 1 p.m. July 22 in the hospitality tent at the Green County Fairgrounds. All auction proceeds go to charitable causes chosen by the Foreign Type board of directors. Anyone can bid, but first must register before the auction in the tent on the midway.
