MADISON - The Wisconsin Brewer's Guild presented its very first Friends of Wisconsin Craft Brewers awards to a bipartisan group of legislators on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at the state capitol.
Rep. Janis Ringhand, D- Evansville, was one of three representatives who were recognized for their efforts to re-affirm Wisconsin's historic identity as the original "Beer State."
Wisconsin Brewer's Guild President Jeff Hamilton said that the three had distinguished themselves with their support for one of the fastest growing industries in Wisconsin.
"Their hard work on behalf of our industry is deeply appreciated by our craft breweries, their employees and the people in the communities they serve," Hamilton said.
"Although I don't have a brewery in my redrawn district, I want to continue to champion this important industry," Ringhand said. "These small businesses are the backbone of our communities and we must do everything we can - from cutting red tape to incentivizing hiring our local workers - to help them grow and expand. As a member of the Committee on Small Business Development, I look forward to continuing that work this legislative session."
