MADISON — Rep. Novak (Dodgeville) has been appointed to serve as Chairman of the Committee on Local Government. He will also serve as a member of the Committee on Agriculture, Committee on Environment, Committee on Mental Health, Committee on Rural Development, and Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety.
On Monday, January 4, Novak took the oath of office at a ceremony in the Assembly Chambers to begin his term in the 105th Wisconsin State Legislature. This is Rep. Novak’s fourth term in the State Assembly.
This will be Rep. Novak’s second term as Chairman of the Committee on Local Government, a committee with strong emphasis and local and rural development within the state. Earlier this year, Rep. Novak was recognized for his work on local government issues. He was named a Municipal Champion by the Wisconsin League of Municipalities and Legislator of the Year by both the Wisconsin Counties Association and Wisconsin Towns Association.
“I am honored to be re-appointed chair of the Committee on Local Government” said Novak. “I believe my strong background in local government will prove to be valuable to the committee as we work to address the many challenges brought about from the COVID-19 pandemic.”
This will be Rep. Novak’s fourth term as a member of the Committee on Agriculture and as a member on the Committee on Mental Health, Committee on Rural Development, and Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety.
