MADISON — Rep. Clinton Anderson, along with Rep. Jimmy Anderson and Senator Mark Spreitzer, released a bill on Aug. 22, LRB-3732, to expand options for identification when picking up a prescription from a pharmacy. This bill allows the use of a foreign issued identification card or document to be used to pick up a prescription so long as the document has a photo.

“This bill came directly from the listening sessions I had around the district. Constituents came up to me to talk about the hard time they’ve had getting access to medications they had already been prescribed due to lack of a qualifying ID,” said Rep. Clinton Anderson. “Everyone should have access to healthcare, yet some people in our community can go to the doctor, get a prescription, and then still fail to get the healthcare they need simply because they don’t have the right ID. This bill is a step towards expanding healthcare in our communities, and I hope we can get this common sense reform done in Madison.”
