Reload reboot: Rain in 2018, encore in 2019
concerts on the square logo

MONROE — Back by popular demand, the band Reloaded is on the lineup for Main Street Monroe Concerts on the Square at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 12. Band members were rocking the Square last summer when heavy winds and rain brought the show to an end.

Reloaded’s set list includes the 80s through today with rock, country and pop hits. Local hometown connections within the band include guitar master and music instructor Brian Koenig (originally from Monroe) and Jim Bandt (Colony Brands employee by day, drummer by night and on the weekends). The show on July 12 is also a “back to the 80’s night” with a salute to the Monroe High School Class of 1984.

A very fun and furry intermission with Paws on Parade will be presented by the Green County Humane Society. Costumed pets and their costumed owners will compete for prizes in categories including Best Dressed, Most Creative, Best Duo and Judges’ Choice.

All season long, sign up for the “Best Seat in the House” contest with premium seating on custom Adirondack chairs and a prize package including pizza from Suisse Haus, popcorn from Rainbow Confections, drink tickets from the beer stand, plus fun swag from Main Street Monroe, Heartland Graphics and Green County Cheese Days. Register at Heartland Graphics; winners drawn prior to each show.

Main Street Monroe’s popular summer concert series is generously underwritten by Colony Brands. Upcoming shows are Water Street Jacks on July 25 (Lighting up the Dark with Jacob’s Swag), Red Hot Horn Dawgs on August 2 (Salute to Monroe Class of 1979), and Fletcher Rockwell on Aug. 1 (with Prince and Princess Night sponsored by Monroe Park and Recreation).

New this year at the Main Street Beverage Garden — order a specialty cocktail like a Lime Margarita or a Whiskey Old Fashioned. Proceeds from the Beverage Garden are shared by Main Street Monroe, Green Haven, and Green County Child Advocacy Center. Carry-ins not allowed for alcoholic beverages, but you’re welcome to bring a to-go dinner from one of the downtown restaurants.

If you enjoy Concerts on the Square and other Main Street events, consider getting involved as a volunteer. For more information: mainstreetmonroe.org, or contact Jordan Nordby, Main Street Director, at 608-328-4023.
