MONROE - The Monroe City Band will begin rehearsals on Monday, Oct. 14 for its annual Holiday Concert held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8 in the sanctuary of the Monroe United Methodist Church, 2227 4th St.
The free concert is open to the public. The band will be collecting non-perishable items for the Green County Food Pantry at the door.
Rehearsals for the performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14 in the Monroe Middle School band room. Performances are open to new members, particularly those on trumpet, clarinet and percussion instruments. There is no audition, but prospective new members need to have at least three years of experience playing an instrument.
