MONROE - Two more food pantries recently opened in Green County.
The new pantries include, Green Cares Food Pantry, W5198 County C, Monticello, and Grace Church Food Pantry, 416 2nd St., New Glarus.
University of Wisconsin Extension Community Resource Development Agent Cara Carper said the two food pantries will be able to help serve Green County residents who need a little extra help.
"All of the food pantries have seen an increase in customers because of the economy," Carper said.
The Green Cares Food Pantry is open from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, 9 a.m. to noon Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The Grace Church Food Pantry is open by appointment. Contact Tamea Sanders at (608) 513-1000 for more information.
With the addition of the two pantries, Green County now has 10 food pantries.
