MONROE - Haley Reeson, a member of the York 4-H Club and a senior at New Glarus High School, has been named the Green County 4-H Crowley Leadership Award winner for the 2015-16 4-H year.

The James W. Crowley Dairy Management and Extension Fund sponsors this 4-H dairy award program. James W. Crowley was a longtime UW-Extension dairy specialist and strong supporter of dairy youth project work.

As the county winner, Reeson will have the chance to compete for state-level awards, including two $500 scholarships that will be awarded for continuing dairy education. The state competition will consist of interviews conducted during the Wisconsin State Fair in August 2016.

According to Beth Heinze, University of Wisconsin-Madison/Extension dairy youth specialist, the Crowley Award is one of Wisconsin's more prestigious awards. Many past state recipients of the award have gone on to be leaders in the dairy industry.

Reeson is the daughter of Dean and Rae Reeson and is a 12-year member of the York 4-H Club. She was selected for her outstanding accomplishments in her school and community along with her outstanding accomplishments relating to the dairy industry. She plans to attend UW-Oshkosh this fall to study marketing and communications with an emphasis in graphic design, in hopes of pursuing a job in the agricultural marketing field.
