MONROE - The Monroe Clinic and Hospital Foundation will showcase the talent of local artists in an artist reception tonight, March 22, in honor the one-year anniversary of the new hospital.

The reception is from 4 to 7 p.m.

Visitors will be able to tour rotating galleries and meet featured local artists Thomas Brain, Nana Schowalter and James Meldrum. Their artwork will be on display in the rotating art exhibit through mid-June.

Exposure to art can reduce the need for pain medication, promote shorter hospital stays and reduce stress, according to a news release from the Clinic. Monroe Clinic has partnered with Monroe Arts Center to offer rotating exhibits which change quarterly. In addition, the showcase brings local artists and community together. Receptions are sponsored by the Monroe Clinic and Hospital Foundation.

All rotating pieces are available for purchase, with a portion of the sale going back to the foundation for continued support of the showcase.
