NEW GLARUS - On Friday, June 25, the 11 newly crowned Dairy Queens in Green County will gather in New Glarus, the host of the Green County Dairy Days. The girls will spend the morning relaxing, getting to know one another and visiting some of the area sites.

In the afternoon, they will begin the process of interviews to become the next Green County Dairy Queen or Green County Dairy Princess. The afternoon judging process will go into the evening at the Queens Banquet which will be held at the New Glarus High School.

The banquet will begin with Moo-tails at 7 p.m. and the "Big Question" beginning at 7:30 p.m. The judges also attend the banquet to watch the girls interact in the public setting as well as hear the responses from the "Big Question." The girls hear the question for the first time as they come to the podium one by one from an area away from the banquet so they are not able to hear the question prior to presenting to the audience.

The banquet will also recognize former Dairy Queens who represented New Glarus in the past. The first New Glarus Dairy Queen was crowned in 1955. New Glarus has also had four Dairy Queens in the past become the Green County Dairy Queen and four that have gone on to being the Green County Dairy Princess.

Another highlight of the evening will be the naming of the Oldest Active Farm Couple in Green County, AG/Business Woman under the age of 40 and AG/Business Woman over the age of 40. Information about these can be found on the Awards Page of www.greencountyagchest.com. Nominations are due Wednesday June 16.

Tickets are now on sale for the Queens Banquet. They are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the Community Dairy Queen Crownings as well as at Anchor Bank in New Glarus, Union Bank and Trust in New Glarus and The New Glarus Bank and Sugar River Branches in all of Green County.
