MONROE - Suzann Holland was selected as the next Monroe Public Library director by the library's Board of Trustees at its April meeting, Monroe school board and library board member Brian Keith said Monday.
Holland will begin her duties June 23. She will replace Barbara Brewer, who will retire June 30.
Keith announced the board's decision at Monday's Monroe school board meeting. Holland was one of about 25 people who applied for the position and one of five finalists who were interviewed, Keith said.
For the past six years, Holland has been director of the Oskaloosa Public Library in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She also worked at Southeastern Library Services in Davenport, Iowa, and at the Milwaukee Public Library.
In a press release issued by the library board Monday, board President Anita Huffman said Holland brings with her a commitment to community and customer services.
