BROWNTOWN - A fire that broke out inside a compressor room at the Grede Browntown foundry Monday, Jan. 20 did not significantly disrupt production or result in any injuries, according to an email from Grede Holdings LLC. Production at the facility resumed shortly after the fire was put out by fire crews from the Monroe Fire Department and Browntown-Cadiz-Jordan Fire District. The fire was caused by a piece of plant equipment that was later replaced.
