DARLINGTON - A triple homicide is being investigated in Wiota township in rural South Wayne, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department.
Officials said the sheriff's department was notified at 9:35 a.m. today, April 28 that a deceased person had been found inside a home in the 9000 block of Phillipine Road. The person was found by a family member. Deputies responded and found two additional people at the residence who were also deceased.
Police were seeking a 1998 Ford 150 pickup truck, blue with a blue topper, with Wisconsin license plate 220489F. The pickup truck is registered to one of the victims in the case.
According to officials, information in the investigation of the case indicated a suspect in the case likely traveled to southeastern Wisconsin.
Late Saturday, April 27, the Green County Sheriff's Department said a Waukesha County man was reported missing in the Browntown area. This afternoon, shortly before 4 p.m., the department said it had been notified by the Waukesha Police Department that the man had been found.
Lafayette County officials could not confirm the missing man found was the suspect in the homicide investigation.
