BRODHEAD - Brodhead author Christine J. Dieckhoff will be having her first book reading and signing for her new book, "Opening the Door Just a Crack: A Poetic Peek at Surviving Everyday Life," from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20 at the Brodhead Public Library, 1207 25th St.
The book presents poetry about her thoughts on everyday life.
"This is a collection of the ordinary and the unusual thoughts and observations that could occur in any person's life," Dieckhoff said. "There are no magical answers to having a wonderful life, but this book reveals my way of seeking out ways to survive and enjoy the events that happen daily.
Light refreshments will available.
Dieckhoff is a former librarian and schoolteacher. She has a bachelor of arts in elementary education from Concordia University, River Forest, Ill.
