PLATTEVILLE - An 18-year-old Platteville High School senior was killed in a crash on Grant County D west of Platteville early Sunday morning.
Justin D. Brogley was declared dead by the Grant County Coroner at the scene of the crash, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office.
Brogley was driving south on County D at about 3:45 a.m. when his pickup went off the right side of the road, hitting an embankment, going through a fence, becoming airborne and then landing on its passenger-side door.
Brogley, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the truck, according to the sheriff's office.
Platteville and UW-Platteville Police, Platteville Fire, Southwest Health and the Wisconsin State Patrol assisted at the scene.
Brogley is the eighth fatality on Grant County highways this year.
Grief counselors were made available at Platteville High School Sunday and Monday.
Brogley's funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Melby Funeral Home and Crematory in Platteville.
