Pickleball, couch to 5K offered by Parks and Rec

MONROE - The Monroe Parks and Recreation Department has upcoming programs for adults.

• Pickleball begins May 1 and continues through Oct. 11 at Twining Park tennis courts. Games are from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. The cost is $10. The supervisor is Brian Saugstad.

• Couch to 5K will be held from June 12 to Aug. 26 at the Badger State Trailhead. It will meet at 6 p.m. Mondays and at 8 a.m. Saturdays. This is a beginner's running schedule that has helped thousands of new runners get off the coach and onto the roads, running miles in three months. The group will split into beginning and advanced runners to accommodate the different levels of runner. Cost for the program is $20 for residents, $30 for non-residents. The instructor will be Amanda King.

• The Disc Golf League will meet at 6 p.m. Thursdays from May 4 to Aug. 31 at Twining Park in the parking lot closest to the No. 1 hole. Anyone 14 years or older may register on site each Thursday. Cost is $5 with a payout each week. Supervisors will be Chris and Jack Morris.
