DARLINGTON — Bones and Belly Rubs, located 11532 Wis. 23, offers so much more than services and treats. As their slogan says, “We love your pet like our own,” Scott and Kris Lindholm have a love for pets in their hearts and are excited to bring the much-needed pet services to the area. Daycare and boarding offered to cats, as well as dogs, just might be the answer some pet owners are looking for.
Daycare is offered five days a week, from 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Cats and dogs both benefit from daycare, as socialization can reduce behavioral problems brought on by boredom or separation anxiety. The benefits of exercise are good for the animals, both indoors and out. The outdoor play area measures 4,000 square feet, with an indoor play area of 1,200 square feet.
Boarding a pet overnight at Bones and Belly Rubs is a service offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; with a staff member remaining on the premises, ensuring pets will not be left alone. Kennel sizes offered are 5-feet-by-5-feet and 5-feet-by-10-feet. Private kennel suits are coming in 2024. Clients can also look forward to dog training classes and pet grooming services coming to Bones and Belly Rubs in January.
The Lindholms have teamed up with Carmen Rea-Kodatt, Certified Dog Trainer, specializing in problem-based behaviors, as well as basic training of puppies and dogs. David Benischek of Fuzzy Butts in Darlington will be offering dog grooming and spa services at Bones and Belly Rubs.
Visitors of Bones and Belly Rubs can grab a cup of coffee and browse the retail line. Specialty treats, leashes, toys and other items are offered for cats and dogs. Pet owners will also find travel mugs, key chains and more. Those interested in purchasing gifts for the holidays will find how convenient it is to purchase locally, just steps away from the front door. Gift givers can also purchase a gift certificate for services offered at Bones and Belly Rubs.
The brightly colored walls, along with the Lindholm’s nurturing environment, will enhance the visitor experience, whether dropping off or picking up a pet. The friendly staff enjoys the time with the cats and dogs as much as the animals enjoy the attention.
“It’s fun being able to play with animals all day,” Scott Lindholm said.
In addition to Scott and Kris Lindholm, two volunteers give their time to Bones and Belly Rubs. Becky Taylor and Judy Lindholm are kind enough to offer their services to the animals while in the care of the facility.
